Excellent story, Lizzie! I love your ability to mix the mysterious with the tragically mundane, and the child's perspective here was rendered brilliantly.
Sometimes I read a child's POV and it's either too dumbed down or super annoying, but you did a really great job here with the little girl's POV. The little girl's naivety juxtaposed against the unknown tension was really nice.
